Defendant has carried out acts associated with stalking, poses risk associated with stalking, and there is reasonable cause to believe the order is necessary.

Evidence required

Police gather: pattern of contact, surveillance, intelligence, victim statements, expert risk assessment.

Duration

Minimum 2 years. Interim SPOs available pending full hearing.

Breach consequences

Criminal offence — up to 5 years' imprisonment.
